Need Help Lowering Your Electric Bill?

See you if qualify for FirstEnergy Pennsylvania’s WARM Program. You could receive energy-saving home upgrades at no cost to you. 

  • How does WARM work?

    If you qualify for WARM, a trained educator will complete an in-home energy evaluation to locate areas throughout your home that may be less energy efficient. This can cause higher electric bills.  

    After the audit, the educator will work with you to create a personalized plan that can help you save energy and money. You may also receive energy-saving home improvements, like extra insulation or weatherstripping, installed throughout your home at no cost to you.

  • What are the benefits of the WARM program?

    WARM is designed to help you save energy and money and make your home more comfortable. 

    In addition to receiving a personalized plan to reduce electricity usage, you could receive home improvements like:

    • Attic and/or wall insulation

    • Caulking and weatherstripping around doors and windows

    • Refrigerator and freezer testing and possible replacement

    • Electric water heater inspection

    • Replacement of inefficient window or wall air conditioners

    • Energy-saving light bulbs


    The improvements that you are eligible to receive will be determined during your home energy evaluation. No payment is required for these services.

  • How do I qualify for WARM?

    To qualify for the WARM program, you must be a FirstEnergy Pennsylvania customer and have:

    • Average electric usage of at least 375 kWh per month
    • Minimum annual usage of 6,000 kWh
    • A gross (before tax) household income at or below 200% of 2025 Federal Poverty Guidelines

  • How do I apply for WARM?

    To apply for WARM:

    1. Complete an online application OR

    2. Call the Dollar Energy Fund at 1-888-282-6816 


    As part of your application, you will be required to provide proof of income, including:

    • Your most recent household income tax return(s)

    • Copies of pay stubs for all working members in your household for the last 30 days

  • What if I rent my home?

    If you rent your home, you can still participate in WARM with your landlord’s approval. Please print, complete and submit the landlord agreement form (formulario de acuerdo de propietario) to:

  • I am eligible for WARM. What's next?

    Once your application is processed, FirstEnergy will be notified that you qualify for WARM. We will assign your job to a WARM contractor in your area, who will contact you to schedule your home evaluation. 

    The timeframe for scheduling your home evaluation can vary depending on the current number of applicants. To check the status of your application:

    We understand that there are many reasons you or someone you know may need help with your electric bill. We can offer a variety of programs to help budget your monthly payments, catch up on past-due payments or avoid service disconnection.
