Active Duty Benefits
Some FirstEnergy employees continue to serve our nation in the military reserves and National Guard. The company values the sacrifices made by these individuals and their families, and offers the following support when they are called to active duty:
- Pay differential between military pay and FirstEnergy pay for up to two years.
- Most company-offered benefits remain available to the employee and their qualified dependants for up to two years, including medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage, as well as employee and dependant life insurance.
- Continued participation in the company’s 401(k) retirement savings plan and the company-sponsored pension plan for up to two years.
- Access to various work/life programs offered by the company, including financial planning services, adoption assistance and counseling services offered through the Employee Assistance Program.
FirstEnergy also will provide up to three weeks (15 business days) of differential pay to an employee who must conduct required annual active or inactive duty training.
