A Letter From Torrence Hinton, President of FirstEnergy Ohio
Dear Valued Customer,
I’m grateful for the chance to connect with you on the latest news and updates from your local energy company. Over the last several months, our employees at Toledo Edison, The Illuminating Company and Ohio Edison have been working hard to serve you, our customers.
This year, we’re completing projects in many of our local communities to help enhance reliability, like new neighborhood power lines designed to help prevent or minimize the impact of outages caused by severe weather. We’ve also worked with community partners like the Akron RubberDucks to support literacy programs and volunteered across Ohio in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, which is observed as a National Day of Service. More recently, I was thrilled to visit Garfield High School in Akron, where I was able to meet students enrolled in the FirstEnergy Academy of Emerging Technology and Design to discuss Power Charge – a program we are proud to support that promotes good behavior and decision making at school.
In addition to these efforts, we remain committed to keeping you informed about changes that may affect your energy costs. As you’ll read in this edition of Customer Connection, we expect electric supply prices to increase on June 1. We break down what is happening and how you can take control of your energy budget. Additionally, with summer approaching, we know that higher temperatures often lead to increased energy usage. That’s why we’re sharing information on budget billing options, energy-saving tips and assistance programs that can help you manage your energy use and costs.
We understand that price increases can be challenging to navigate, but please know that we are here to help. We look forward to fulfilling our mission to deliver the safe, reliable power you deserve while connecting you with the important resources you need.
Sincerely,
Torrence L. Hinton
President, FirstEnergy Ohio
