A Look at What’s Ahead in West Virginia
Dear Valued Customer,
As 2026 gets underway, I want to share a quick look at what we accomplished across the great state of West Virginia over the past year. Our crews have been upgrading equipment to help enhance reliability and prepare our system to better handle severe weather and increasing demand. As energy costs continue to be topofmind nationwide, we’re working hard to keep our service affordable while delivering the safety and reliable service you depend on. It’s been a busy year, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to serve you.
Our Promise to You
In 2025, we made meaningful progress to enhance reliability today while planning for West Virginia’s long-term energy needs. Some key milestones include:
- Completing our third utility-scale solar site to help meet growing energy needs
- Investing $13 million in reliability upgrades across rural West Virginia to help reduce outages and get the lights back on faster when they do occur
- Bringing a new, high-tech substation online in Morgan County to help ensure fewer and shorter outages for area customers in Maryland and West Virginia
In November, we joined Governor Patrick Morrisey and other officials to share plans for a natural gas facility and 70 megawatts of utility-scale solar. This project reflects our promise to keep energy costs manageable and power reliable and supports Governor Morrisey’s initiative to increase West Virginia's energy capacity over the next two decades.
Looking ahead, we remain focused on improving reliability, enhancing customer experience and driving economic growth in the communities we serve.
Giving Back
Beyond our system investments, we are proud to continue to support our communities through FirstEnergy Foundation donations to organizations that provide critical services, including:
- $10,000 to West Virginians impacted by flooding
- $620,000 in grants to 32 food banks during Hunger Action Month
- Supporting organizations that assist abuse survivors during Domestic Violence Awareness Month
- Surprise "Gifts of the Season" grants to two impactful nonprofits that help address housing insecurity and youth development
We’re also proud of our employees who volunteer their time and talents to support community initiatives – like planting an impressive 2,000 trees to help enhance community green spaces.
Thank You for Trusting Us
Thank you for letting us be part of the places you call home. We’re committed to delivering the dependable service you need and keeping you informed as we continue working to improve your experience in the years to come.
Sincerely,

Jim Myers
