A Look at What’s Ahead from the President of JCP&L

Dear Valued Customer,

With the new year in full swing, I want to wish you and your family a happy and healthy 2026. It’s our privilege to be your local electric company, and I’d like to share some highlights from 2025 and how we’ll continue to serve you and our communities in the year ahead.

Powering New Jersey

Last year, we made meaningful progress to improve system reliability and resilience across the communities we serve. A key milestone was reaching the halfway mark of the New Jersey Reliability Improvement Project – a two-phase initiative focused on upgrading lines with a history of outages. At least $95 million in improvements will be completed through 2026, with additional longterm projects continuing through 2028. Look for future editions of this newsletter, where we’ll highlight the benefits customers are already seeing because of this work.

We also received approval from the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities for our EnergizeNJ infrastructure investment program – a three-year, $200 million investment to upgrade and modernize the grid. These improvements will help reduce the number of customers impacted by outages and get the lights back on faster when outages do occur. 

Giving Back to Our Communities

Beyond our system investments, we remain committed to supporting our communities. Last year, we presented FirstEnergy Foundation grants to support critical needs, including relief efforts for those impacted by the Jones Road Wildfire and environmental and educational initiatives, such as tree plantings and STEM education to inspire the next generation of innovators. 

To close out the year, we surprised two local nonprofits with the FirstEnergy Foundation’s annual “Gifts of the Season” grants to help provide food and essential services to our neighbors in need.
