Ohio Residential REC Program

The Ohio Residential Renewable Energy Credit (REC) program allows FirstEnergy to purchase Renewable Energy Credits from residential customers who produce energy from renewable energy resources and are being served by either the Ohio Edison Company, The Toledo Edison Company, or The Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company.  FirstEnergy provided a residential REC purchase program that was available to all Ohio residential customers until May 31, 2011 in accordance with the approved Application for Approval of a REC Purchase Program Agreement in its Electric Security Plan, Case No. 09-551-EL-UNC.  Customers currently under contract can continue to reference this website for program related documents and information.
