Apprenticeship Program

To help address the continuing need for new line workers and substation electricians, the FirstEnergy apprenticeship program will offer apprentices paid employment from the beginning of their training. During their apprenticeships, new hires learn foundational skills from veteran instructors taught in both a classroom and hands-on settings. The program also will offer opportunities for apprentices to develop relationships with seasoned employees at the onset of the training experience. Those who enter the apprenticeship program will begin their progression to becoming a journey level line worker or substation electrician.

We are currently looking to fill line worker and substation electrician apprenticeship positions for 2024 throughout the FirstEnergy territory. This will take place sometime between the months of July and August. Positions will be filled by FirstEnergy employees first with any remaining positions filled externally. If we post externally, postings will be made available on our website: www.firstenergycorp.com/careers
