Dutch Fork-Enon 138-kV Rebuild Project
At FirstEnergy, it is our responsibility to deliver the power our customers depend on in their daily lives. Keystone Appalachian Transmission Company (“KATCo”), a FirstEnergy company, has identified the need to rebuild the existing Dutch Fork-Enon 138-kilovolt (kV) transmission line in Washington County and Greene County, Pennsylvania, due to the condition of the transmission line.
KATCo is evaluating alternative routes for the rebuild through portions of East Finley Township, West Finley Township, Donegal Township and Morris Township in Washington County and Richhill Township in Greene County in Pennsylvania.
KATCo evaluated the existing condition of the Dutch Fork-Enon 138 kV Transmission Line in the area and identified the need to construct a new 138-kV transmission line to connect the existing Dutch fork Substation to the existing Enon Substation. The line will extend approximately 15 miles and will be supported primarily by steel pole structures. The project is needed due to the deteriorating condition of the existing transmission line that cannot be rebuilt due to outage constraints.
KATCo will hold a public open house to solicit feedback from interested parties about the new line through portions of East Finley Township, West Finley Township, Donegal Township and Morris Township in Washington County and Richhill Township in Greene County in Pennsylvania.
Feedback received will be evaluated by KATCo representatives and a proposed route selected.
