Sammis-Star 345 kV Transmission Line Rebuild Project (Sammis Substation to Structure 39 Segment)
In this Project, American Transmission Systems, Incorporated, (“ATSI”), a FirstEnergy company, is proposing to rebuild the existing Sammis-Star 345 kV Transmission Line (Sammis Substation to Structure 39 Segment). The proposed project will rebuild approximately 8.3 miles of the 68.63-mile transmission line. To facilitate the Project, thirty-eight (38) existing lattice towers and approximately 8.3 miles of existing conductor and shield wire will be removed. Thirty-nine (39) new single circuit tubular steel structures on drilled shaft foundations and approximately 8.3 miles of new conductor and shield wire will be installed. The proposed project will also require the installation of one new structure on the Sammis-Wellsville 345 kV Transmission Line.
The Project is located in the village of Stratton, Saline and Brush Creek Townships in Jefferson County, Ohio.
