Messick Road-Ridgeley 138-kV Transmission Line Rebuild Project

The Project consists of rebuilding approximately 4.0 miles of the existing Messick Road-Ridgeley 138 kV Transmission Line.  Potomac Edison Company will rebuild approximately 2.0 miles of the transmission line in Allegany County, Maryland and approximately 2.0 miles of the transmission line in Mineral County, West Virginia. The proposed project is necessary to mitigate the risks associated with current conductor load limitations.

  Notice is hereby given that a virtual hearing for the purpose of soliciting comments from the public will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2026, beginning at 6:00 p.m. If you would like to participate at the virtual hearing, please send an email to kimberly.schock@maryland.gov* by 12:00 noon on Monday, October 19, 2026.
