Messick Road-Morgan 138-kV Transmission Line Rebuild Project
The Messick Road-Morgan 138-kV transmission line rebuild project proposes to rebuild approximately 27.3 miles of the existing Messick Road-Morgan 138-kV transmission line. Potomac Edison will rebuild approximately 16.4 miles of existing transmission line in Allegany County, Maryland, and approximately 10.9 miles in Morgan County, West Virginia. The proposed project is necessary to mitigate the risks associated with current conductor load limitations.

Anyone seeking to intervene in the proceeding must file a petition to do so by May 28, 2026. Petitions may be filed through the PSC’s website at www.psc.state.md.us or sent by first-class mail to the PSC’s Executive Secretary, Andrew S. Johnston, 6 St. Paul Street, 16th Floor, Baltimore, MD 21202-6806 and must reference Case Number 9876.
A pre-hearing conference has been scheduled for Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. to be held virtually. The pre-hearing conference will be streamed live for viewing via the PULJ Division’s YouTube Channel*.
