Retail Interconnection

Retail Interconnection applies to current retail customers who add generation to their side of the utility electric meter and interconnect to the electric grid in order to reduce the energy delivered by their electric utility.

Retail interconnections are governed by the rules and regulations identified in the retail electric service tariffs which are filed with and approved by the State's regulatory commission.

Wholesale Interconnection

Wholesale interconnection applies to generation owners who plan to interconnect to the grid with the purpose of selling excess electrical energy to the wholesale market.

Wholesale interconnections are governed by the rules and regulations identified in the Open Access Tariff under the jurisdiction of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).
