As a result of a decision made by the New Jersey Board of Public utilities (BPU), all General Service Secondary (“GS”) and General Service Secondary Time-of-Day (“GST”) fixed price customers can choose to have their electric commodity priced on an hourly basis.

If you choose this option, your energy charges will vary each hour of the day and every day of the week based upon market conditions.

If you are a customer taking service under these tariffs and would like to enroll in the hourly pricing option, please complete the BGS-CIEP Authorization Form and fax it to us at 973-644-4243 by January 5, 2011.

If you choose this option, you must remain on this hourly energy price for a twelve-month period beginning June 1, 2011 through May 31, 2012 unless you shop for, and choose, an alternate electric generation supplier.

Please note that in order to receive hourly energy pricing from Jersey Central Power & Light Company (JCP&L), you might be required to upgrade your existing meter. If JCP&L must replace your meter, you will be notified of all associated costs prior to the meter installation.
