PJM Interconnection, the regional electric grid operator, recently notified FirstEnergy, Dominion Virginia Power and other stakeholders that the proposed Remington-Pratts-Gordonsville project is no longer the preferred option to resolve local electric reliability issues. Dominion expects to file an application with the Virginia State Corporation Commission to rebuild an existing line between Remington, Va., and Gordonsville, Va. Dominion will likely include the previously proposed project, which includes a new FirstEnergy substation in Pratts, Virginia and a line rebuild from Pratts to Gordonsville, as the required alternative in its application.
