Doubs-Goose Creek 500-kV Transmission Line Rebuild Project

The Doubs-Goose Creek 500-kV transmission line rebuild project proposes rebuilding approximately 18 miles of the existing Doubs-Goose Creek 500-kilovolt transmission line. The Potomac Edison Company will rebuild approximately 15.2 miles of the transmission line from Doubs Substation in Frederick County, Maryland to an interconnection point with Dominion Energy in Loudoun County, Virginia. From there, Dominion Energy will rebuild approximately 3.1 miles of the transmission line to their Goose Creek Substation. The project will be located in Fredrick and Montgomery Counties, Maryland and Loudoun County, Virginia. The proposed project is necessary to mitigate the risks associated with present structure condition that could impact reliability.
