Retired in March 2008 as Senior Executive Vice President (a position held since 1989) and Chief Administrative Officer (a position held since 2005) of MetLife Inc., a provider of insurance and other financial services to individual and institutional customers. President and Chief Executive Officer from 1999-2004 of Metropolitan Property and Casualty Insurance Company. She also is a Director of The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation. Director of the Company since 2001 and Director of GPU, Inc. from 1989-2001.
