Expand Your Business with FirstEnergy’s Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® Program
Would you like to set yourself above the competition? Would you like to help your customers save money on energy and enjoy the peace of mind that comes with a safe, comfortable, and healthy home environment? A growing number of homeowners are becoming interested in saving energy and reducing their utility bills. Would you like to be recognized as the certified contractor that can help them do this safely and effectively?
If the answer is yes, we can help!
The Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® Program is sponsored by FirstEnergy’s Ohio operating companies - Ohio Edison Company, The Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company, and The Toledo Edison Company. This Program helps contractors get into the important and rewarding field of Home Performance contracting. Contractors who are trained and certified by the national Building Performance Institute (BPI) use sophisticated diagnostic equipment and share their knowledge with homeowners on how a home really works as a system. Once trained and certified, contractors will be able to offer a broad array of products and services to customers, including high efficiency heating and cooling systems, high efficiency water heaters, insulation, air sealing, duct sealing and duct repair, appliances, and lighting.
And, contractors will be able to effectively address many problems commonly experienced by homeowners:
- High energy bills
- Low comfort rooms
- Rooms that don’t heat or cool properly
- Moisture related problems
- Health and safety issues
As the Program host, Ohio Edison, The Illuminating Company and Toledo Edison are offering an array of important incentives to help contractors learn the skills and achieve success:
- Subsidized training tuition
- BPI Certification bonus
- Reimbursements for purchasing diagnostic equipment
- Bonuses for conducting Home Performance assessments and making comprehensive recommendations
- Bonuses for selling and completing jobs under the Program
- Customer rebates for electricity saving measures
In addition, Ohio Edison, The Illuminating Company and Toledo Edison will be promoting the Program to current residents and generating valuable leads for participating contractors!
