The Charles Edison Fund - Experiments Provides teachers with simple, proven, fun booklets containing 82 experiments on energy and other science-related topics. National Endowment for Financial Planning A financial planning program for high school students is available at no cost to public and private school teachers and youth leaders from the National Endowment for Financial Planning (NEFE). The program has seven units and includes games, simulations, case studies, interactive exercises and an instructor's manual. Each student receives a workbook and a personal finance portfolio. Materials are sent by UPS at no cost. Register through the Web at www.nefe.org, or call (303) 224-3511.
National Gardening Association "Kids" Web Site The National Gardening Association (NGA) has a web site, www.kidsgardening.com (sponsored by Scott's), with a wealth of ideas, information and resources to help involve children in gardening. The Teacher's Room section contains detailed information on projects created by teachers. One of the site's links is to the Bugs Mugs section of the NGA site, which gives photos and short articles describing the creatures commonly found in gardens.
