Seeing first hand the production and distribution of electricity can be an exciting experience. Tours providing a  close-up look at FirstEnergy's electric generating plants, substations and environmental control equipment can be scheduled on a limited basis, depending on work and construction schedules and the type of facilities located in your geographic area.

Because of busy schedules during the school year, FirstEnergy welcomes the opportunity during the summer to have educators and school administrators tour our electric generating plants or other facilities. Student tours of our generating facilities are also welcomed.

To schedule a tour of a plant near you, please contact the Area Manager at your local FirstEnergy office.

If you can't visit one of our electric generating plants in person, then take a virtual tour of one of our coal generating plants. Without leaving your home, school or computer, you can take an amazing journey through a typical FirstEnergy coal-fired generating plant. Using digitized computer animation, visitors can go behind steel walls and see the inner workings of complex machinery and systems that generate the electricity that powers our homes, schools and future workplaces.
