To our educators

We support our educators, youth group leaders and civic organizations in the communities served by FirstEnergy's operating companies, as well as where we have facilities, by providing free supplemental resources.

Educational Grants

The deadline to apply for a FirstEnergy Mathematics, Science and Technology Education Grant for up to $500 is September 20, 2010. More information and application forms are available on the Educational Grants page.

Tours

Take a virtual tour of a typical FirstEnergy coal-fired generating plant. Using digitized computer animation, visitors can go behind steel walls and see the inner workings of complex machinery and systems that generate the electricity that powers your homes, schools and future workplaces.

Elecric Avenue

Also, our Electric Avenue interactive site offers a world of information on electrical safety, energy sources and energy efficiency and is designed to be an excellent classroom resource. Electric Avenue also features fun, energy-related games and facts suitable for all grade levels.

Advisory Councils

The FirstEnergy Educational Advisory Councils, which are panels of educators and school administrators from Ohio, Pennsylvania and New Jersey, meet each year to discuss educational goals. The Councils extensively review and evaluate a variety of resources and make appropriate recommendations on grade and subject use.

Our educational resources may be obtained, free-of-charge, using our online shopping cart, by contacting the Area Manager at your FirstEnergy office, or by contacting the Community Involvement Department, FirstEnergy Corp., 76 S. Main St., Akron, OH 44308, (330) 384-5022.
