At FirstEnergy, we dedicate a significant amount of time and resources to develop ways to improve the quality of life in the communities where we live and serve. Since our giving is generally limited to organizations located within our service territory, we have developed Community Involvement Priorities to help ensure the most effective use of our resources.
This allows us to choose the best opportunities to accomplish our vision: The Greater Good is Better Business. It also characterizes our community involvement and helps balance our business and philanthropic efforts.
Our Community Involvement Priorities are to:
- Help improve the vitality of our communities and support key safety initiatives
- Promote local and regional economic development and revitalization
- Advance an educated workforce by supporting professional development, literacy, science, technology, engineering and mathematics education initiatives
- Support FirstEnergy employees' community leadership and volunteer interests
We work hard to make a difference in our neighborhoods, and we're committed to being stewards of our community partnerships. We also recognize there are limits to what we can realistically and effectively achieve with our resources. That's why we use our Community Involvement Priorities to help guide our charitable efforts. We sincerely believe that The Greater Good Is Better Business.
Sincerely,
