Co-op/intern program
Our Co-op/Intern Professional Development Program is designed to cultivate your professional skills and provide meaningful insight into the rewards of pursuing full-time, professional-level work. It’s available to talented students who are looking to gain on-the-job experience in various locations and positions throughout FirstEnergy – with consideration for full-time employment after graduation.
We are looking for students* majoring in:
- Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Nuclear, Environmental)
- Information Technology
- Business Management/Administration
- Finance
- Accounting
- Supply Chain Management
- Human Resources
* Students must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. Finance, Accounting and Information Technology majors are required to have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Other majors are required to have a minimum GPA of 2.5.

Relocation and Housing FirstEnergy offers relocation assistance for eligible engineering majors who are selected for an engineering position. For students that live more than 50 miles from their FirstEnergy reporting location, we offer a stipend for housing.
We also offer relocation assistance to students who accept a full-time position with FirstEnergy upon graduation and who meet the distance requirements.
