Ohio Residential Renewable Energy Credit (REC) Program
The Ohio Residential Renewable Energy Credit (REC) program allows FirstEnergy to purchase Renewable Energy Credits from residential customers who produce energy from renewable energy resources. FirstEnergy's Ohio Operating Companies (Ohio Edison Company, The Toledo Edison Company, and The Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company) will provide a residential REC purchase program that will be available to all customers until May 31, 2011.
Interconnection Process
If you have already signed an interconnection agreement, which includes participation in the Net Metering Energy Rider with your operating company, please proceed to the application process below.

Application Process
Step 1: Customers interested in this program can complete the following application to get started.

Step 2: If you have not filed with the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) to get your renewable project certified, go to the link below and complete the registration process. If you have completed this section already, proceed to the next step.

Step 3: Once the Company has received your Application form and approved the certification documents from the PUCO, the Company will contact you to sign the Company's Residential Renewable Energy Credit Purchase Program contract. The contract contains provisions such as describing how the payment process works, verifying creditworthiness,and how the amount of the Renewable Energy Credits will be derived.
