Understanding your bill
Pennsylvania's Electric Choice program lets you choose the company that supplies your electricity. As part of this program, your electric bill shows "unbundled" charges. No new charges for basic electric service have been added. This just means the charges that add up to the total amount due - the previously bundled generation, distribution, and transmission charges - are listed separately, as well as supplier charges if you choose another electric supplier. Even if you don't participate in electric choice and your electric generation supply is provided by your electric distribution company - such as Metropolitan Edison Company (Met-Ed) or Pennsylvania Electric Company (Penelec) - you will still receive the same itemized bill.
