3. What is my Price To Compare?
The Price to Compare, formerly called the shopping credit, is the cost a consumer uses to compare prices and potential savings among electric generation suppliers. The price includes both the cost of generation and the cost of transmitting power from the source of generation to Metropolitan Edison Company's (Met-Ed) or Pennsylvania Electric Company's (Penelec) distribution system.
Customers will save money if they can find a supplier to sell them electricity and transmission service for a price that is less than the Price to Compare.
Met-Ed and Penelec customers can click here or call the Retail Choice Center toll-free at 1-888-478-2300 to obtain their Price to Compare.
