Understanding your bill

Ohio's Electric Choice program lets you choose the company that supplies your electric generation. As part of this program, your electric bill shows "unbundled" charges. No new charges for basic electric service have been added. This just means the charges that add up to the total amount due - the previously bundled generation, distribution, and transmission charges - are listed separately, as well as the charges from your competitive retail electric service provider (CRES) if you choose another CRES. Even if you don't participate in electric choice, you will still receive the same itemized bill.
